Major bridge development in Hong Kong, China—past, present and future

摘要: The first “modern” type of vehicular bridge was built in Hong Kong China in the 1920s. The need for an efficient transportation system to cope with population growth and enable economic development has demanded the construction of more and more bridges since the middle of the 20th century. By 2007, Hong Kong had a total of about 1300 vehicular bridges. Four of these bridges, including the Tsing Ma Bridge, Kap Shui Mun Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge, and the cable-stayed bridge on the Hong Kong- Shenzhen Western Corridor, are considered to be major bridges supported by cables. Currently, the Stonecutters Bridge on Route No. 8 is under construction and is expected to be completed in late 2009. At the same time, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will be in its detailed design stage soon. While efforts have been made by bridge builders to construct these giant structures, the upkeeping of these valuable assets at a high standard and ensuring their continuous functioning and performance during their intended lifespans will be another important task for bridge engineers. Wind and structural health monitoring system (WASHMS) will play a key role in this respect.

山水城市——21世纪中国的人居环境

摘要:

20世纪90年代,中国掀起了一场关于21世纪社会主义中国城市发展模式的大讨论。钱学森教授提出的山水城市概念是把中国传统文化中的山水诗词、山水画和中国古典园林与现代城市建设结合起来。山水城市的核心思想是,兼顾城市生态和历史文化,兼顾现代科技和环境美学;它考虑未来城市生产、生活发展的需要;它是为中国老百姓享受的生活、工作环境。21世纪是城市的世纪,主要是发展中国家的城市化。中国已经开始进入城市化高速发展的时期,世界关注中国城市化发展的道路。这是山水城市讨论的时代背景。中华民族对山水有特殊的感情,山水意识几乎融入中华民族的遗传基因,山水文化的特色之一是综合艺术,这是山水城市的文化背景。

基于犹豫模糊决策矩阵的犹豫模糊多准则共识群决策方法 Article

摘要: 群决策在管理决策和经济领域有着重要作用。本文建立了两种关于犹豫模糊多准则群共识决策的方法,并使用犹豫模糊决策矩阵(hesitant fuzzy decision matrices, HFDMs)表示专家的偏好。本文建立了两个新颖的、可应用于不同群决策环境的共识模型,其中共识决策过程包括:共识检验过程,共识达成过程和选择过程。专家以犹豫模糊集的方式表达自己的选择,然后通过集成算子计算每个准则下的犹豫模糊集。此外,基于两个专家在决策之间的偏差计算出任意两个犹豫模糊集之间的距离。本文建立了两种达成共识的方法,并提出了两种犹豫模糊多准则群决策方法的具体计算步骤。最后通过具体案例分析了苹果公司以旧换新的决策过程。该案例旨在让所有专家在进行选择决策之前达成高度共识,避免一些专家的偏好值过高或过低。通过共识测量修正的偏好信息可令决策结果更加合理。

Long-term settlement behavior of ground around shield tunnel due to leakage of water in soft deposit of Shanghai

摘要: The lining of shield tunnel is usually composed of segments, in which the joints, cracks, and the grouting holes (hereafter called lining deficit) exist. During the long-term running, soils and groundwater may leak from these kinds of lining deficit. The leaking of soil and groundwater causes the long-term ground loss around tunnel and thus results in the settlement of ground surface. This paper aims to analyze the impact of the leakage of groundwater through segments on the long-term settlement of ground surface. The adopted analytical method is based on the theory of groundwater seepage by using numerical simulation. The analyzed results show that settlement of ground surface increases gradually with the increase of the leaked volume of tunnel segments. When the leaked volume was unevenly distributed, differential settlement occurred locally. Comparative analysis by changing the leaked volume was conducted. The results reveal that there is a linear relationship between settlement and leaked volume when the leaked volume was controlled within the allowable limit.

Preparation and catalytic performance of La0.8Sr0.2CoO3 supported on the mullite fiber ceramic

摘要: The perovskite-type LaSrCoO supported on the mullite fiber porous ceramics was prepared by means of the impregnating method, and was then characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD); thus we can come to the conclusion that the perovskite-type composite oxidant can disperse on the surface of mullite fiber ceramics. The catalytic activity of the LaSrCoO for NO and CO was evaluated. The effect of the doped 0.1 wt-% PdCl on the catalytic activity of the perovskite-type LaSrCoO was also discussed. The results show that the conversion rates of NO and CO respectively reaches 74.5% and 99% at 601°C without doped Pd, and both reach 100% at 350°C with a little doped Pd.

Strategies of Efficient Exploration and Development of Deepwater Oil and Gas Overseas

摘要: Deepwater offshore area, with rich oil and gas resources, has currently become the hot area for oil and gas exploration and the main battlefield where global oil majors compete with each other. This article summarizes the current situation of deepwater oil and gas exploration and development overseas from the perspectives of exploration history, exploration achievements and technical progress, and analyzes the difficulties and challenges faced by the industry, such as low level understanding of hydrocarbon accumulation conditions, global security and environmental challenges. And then, several feasible implementation strategies have been proposed on how to actively deal with the challenges, promote Chinese oil companies’ overseas exploration, and realize efficient exploration and development of deepwater oil and gas fields overseas. These strategies consist of three aspects: profit-oriented operation principle, exploration ideas supported by theory and technology, and exploration strategy that puts safety first. In the era of low oil prices, Chinese oil companies must build up confidence, seize the opportunity and face the challenge while taking efforts to innovate technologies and theories, updates strategic ideas, and cultivate deepwater talents so as to be in an active position in global deepwater exploration and development industry in the future.

Impact of roxarsone on the UASB reactor performance and its degradation

摘要: Impact of continuous ROX addition on performance of UASB reactor was investigated With continuous ROX addition, severe inhibition to methanogenic activity occurred ROX addition caused the changes in the morphology and bacterial diversity of AGS A possible biotransformation pathway of ROX in the UASB reactor was proposed 60%–70% of the arsenic was discharged to the effluent, and 30%–40% was precipitated Roxarsone (3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenylarsonic acid, ROX) has been widely used for decades as an organoarsenic feed additive to control intestinal parasites and improve feed efficiency in animal production. However, most of the ROX is excreted into the manure, causing arsenic contamination in wastewater. The arsenic compounds are toxic to microorganisms, but the influence of continuous ROX loading on upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor is still unknown. In this study, the impact of ROX and its degradation products on the performance of the UASB reactor and the degradation and speciation of ROX in the reactor were investigated. The UASB reactor (hydraulic retention time: 1.75 d) was operated using synthetic wastewater supplemented with ROX for a period of 260 days. With continuous ROX addition at 25.0 mg?L , severe inhibition to methanogenic activity occurred after 87 days operation accompanied with an accumulation of volatile fatty acids (VFAs) and a decline in pH. The decrease of added ROX concentration to 13.2 mg?L did not mediate the inhibition. As(III), As(V), MMA(V), DMA(V), HAPA and an unknown arsenic compound were detected in the reactor, and a possible biotransformation pathway of ROX was proposed. Mass balance analysis of arsenic indicated that 60%–70% of the arsenic was discharged into the effluent, and 30%–40% was precipitated in the reactor. The results from this study suggest that we need to pay attention to the stability in the UASB reactors treating organoarsenic-contaminated manure and wastewater, and the effluent and sludge from the reactor to avoid diffusion of arsenic contamination.

Value Engineering/Value Management Model and Application of Aerospace Projects

摘要: This paper presents a new space model developed by general value engineering/value management model. The authors take the function analysis, function optimization and function realization of the development object as the basic point, to get the final optimization structure by value evaluation, so as to improve the project quality and reduce the project cost. The final case shows that the application of this model can save about 18% of the time and considerable cost of the usually planned projects under the condition of quality assurance.

摘要: Working temperature, sensitivity, and selectivity are some of the characteristics of the applied gas sensors. How to design and fabricate an ideal gas sensor working at room temperature is still challenging and attracting lots of interest. Two-dimensional (2D) materials with ultra-thin structure have been demonstrated as a family of ideal candidates to achieve this goal. Among them, Ti C T MXene, a kind of layered sheet synthesized by selectively etching MAX phases materials, shows remarkable potential to be the sensitive materials solely or in a composite. However, their designing rules are still lacking critical thinking from the viewpoint of the intrinsic property of Ti C T MXene based materials. In this article, two critical features, i.e., the thickness of the sensitive materials, and the scope of the analytes, are elaborated towards Ti C T MXene based gas sensors after characterizing the performance of sensing reducing gases (NH and CO) and oxidizing gas (NO ). First, the thinner the Ti C T MXene sensitive layer, the better the sensitivity. Second, the Ti C T MXene based gas sensor is not suitable for strong and moderate oxidation gas due to its ease of oxidation. These two rules are demonstrated, and could be considered with priority both in the future researches and practical applications.

Precast steel–UHPC lightweight composite bridge for accelerated bridge construction

摘要: In this study, a fully precast steel–ultrahigh performance concrete (UHPC) lightweight composite bridge (LWCB) was proposed based on Mapu Bridge, aiming at accelerating construction in bridge engineering. Cast-in-place joints are generally the controlling factor of segmental structures. Therefore, an innovative girder-to-girder joint that is suitable for LWCB was developed. A specimen consisting of two prefabricated steel–UHPC composite girder parts and one post-cast joint part was fabricated to determine if the joint can effectively transfer load between girders. The flexural behavior of the specimen under a negative bending moment was explored. Finite element analyses of Mapu Bridge showed that the nominal stress of critical sections could meet the required stress, indicating that the design is reasonable. The fatigue performance of the UHPC deck was assessed based on past research, and results revealed that the fatigue performance could meet the design requirements. Based on the test results, a crack width prediction method for the joint interface, a simplified calculation method for the design moment, and a deflection calculation method for the steel–UHPC composite girder in consideration of the UHPC tensile stiffness effect were presented. Good agreements were achieved between the predicted values and test results.

Vehicle-bridge coupled vibrations in different types of cable stayed bridges

摘要: Numerical analyses of the coupled vibrations of vehicle-bridge system and the effects of different types of cable stayed bridges on the coupled vibration responses have been presented in this paper using ANSYS. The bridge model and vehicle model were independently built which have no internal relationship in the ANSYS. The vehicle-bridge coupled vibration relationship was obtained by using the APDL program which subsequently imposed on the vehicle and bridge models during the numerical analysis. The proposed model was validated through a field measurements and literature data. The judging method, possibility, and criterion of the vehicle-bridge resonance (coupled vibrations) of cable stayed bridges (both the floating system and half floating system) under traffic flows were presented. The results indicated that the interval time between vehicles is the main influence factor on the resonance excitation frequency under the condition of equally spaced traffic flows. Compared to other types of cable stayed bridges, the floating bridge system has relatively high possibility to cause vehicle-bridge resonance.

摘要: 采用作物建模技术构建小麦仿真模型,对监测小麦生长、分析小麦生长态势等工作有重要意义和价值。针对小麦麦穗的生长过程建模问题,提出一种基于多边形的麦穗生长建模方法。该方法包括麦穗的多边形建模和生长过程插值。首先将麦穗的外稃和内稃表示成可编辑的多边形模型,然后利用球形插值和线性插值建立麦穗的生长过程模型。所设计的球形插值对麦穗中麦粒生长过程中的角度变化进行建模,线性插值对麦穗中麦粒生长过程中的大小变化进行建模。数值仿真结果表明,该方法可建立高效的麦穗生长模型。
